Painting process

It takes about 14 days before a painting is ready. First Erik paints thick black lines on the canvas with a pyramid shaped paint brush. He then colors the formed sections with 12 coats of paint, using three up to eleven colors. He added an ingredient to the paint that makes it thicker and more substantial. Every layer has to dry and harden. To Erik’s opinion every single piece of his paintings has to consist of 12 layers. After that he polishes the painting by hand and adds three layers of varnish. This gives the painting a glassy look.

Erik continues to paint with a lot of pleasure and enthusiasm.
